Daiwa Longbow DF Floater Special Rod
Designed by legendary angler Danny Fairbrass, the Daiwa Longbow DF Floater Special builds on the incredible success of Danny’s previous collaboration with Daiwa. The Longbow DF had coarse fishing anglers up and down the country begging for another Danny Fairbrass and Daiwa collaboration and the pair responded with this incredible float fishing rod.
A slim profiled rod, the Longbow DF Floater Special offers a forgiving through action and is ideal for surface fishing. The matt finished on the rod is slick and black – with understated graphics this is one classy bit of kit! The NS shrink tube handle is shorter than average, making it ideal for floater fishing when you may have to pass the rod around you body when playing a fish.
With a 2.25lb test curve this is the perfect weighting for a float fishing rod. Anything heavier and you risk hook pulls, any lighter and you just don’t have the power required to command those larger fish. For those anglers’ who enjoy playing fish more than they enjoy getting those distance casts, this is the perfect rod and its fish playing potential is huge. This isn’t to say that this rod can’t cast either, though, and it has an impressive maximum cast distance of around 100 yards – more than enough for your average float fishing situation.
The Daiwa Longbow DF Floater Special has loads of features that really make it stand out from the crowd and showcase what a top quality rod it is. With a handy keeper ring for your hook when you’re carrying your rod made up, this rod has a Fuji DPS reel seat and top quality butt guides. The butt cap and trim rings are all constructed from high-grade metal and the rod has a customer built finish throughout.
