The cousin of the inimitable Procaster, the Daiwa Megaforce X is a fast drag reel that has been designed with modern lure fishing in mind. The fast drag feature on the Megaforce X will be instantly recognisable to any angler who has fished with one of the fantastic Procaster reels. Fast drag allows you to loosen off your drag quickly, allowing your target fish to run with your lure for as long as you let it – ensuring you experience more landed fish and less missed opportunities due to hook pulls from to aggressive drag. As soon as you decide to start reeling in your fish you can re-engage all of the precious drag – helping you in your landing endeavour.

Fast drag isn’t the only feature that you’ll be wowed with when you use the Megaforce X and this reel is fitted with a number of instantly recognisable Daiwa features. These include Twistbuster – Daiwa’s specialised line roller. This line roller makes it as easy to fish with braided mainline as it is with a more traditional monofilament, expanding your angling opportunities and preserving the life of whichever line you choose to use. The spool on the Megaforce X has been designed with Daiwa’s famous anti-backlash system (ABS). ABS ensures that you are able to cast as aggressively as you see fit without worrying about creating a bird’s nest tangle as your line peels from the reel. The spool is aluminium in construction and the Megaforce X comes supplied with a spare aluminium spool as standard – further allowing you to increase your line choice options on the bank.

The reel has been fitted with three ball bearings and one roller bearing. These ensure that your reel is smooth performing as they significantly reduce the friction on the vital moving parts of the reel. Not only this, but the reel has also been fitted with instant anti-reverse. This ensures that you’re able to achieve solid hooksets each time without the risk of slap back or additional slack line being spooled off.  The handle on the reel has also been fitted with two ball bearings, allowing you to have huge fish pulling potential, and the biggest size of the reel (the 3050) allows you to crank in a massive 85cm of line with each handle turn.
