Daiwa Prorex Wading Net
When you’re stalking trout up and down a river or around a lake, you need your tackle to be as lightweight and versatile as possible and bringing in these magnificent animals often requires you to join your prey in the water. This is also true in many other big predator angling situations, such as pike, salmon, perch, etc. It seems that a quality wading net can only be a boon for the determined predator angler.
Enter the Daiwa Prorex Wading Net, with its collection of features deisgned to benefit both you and your quarry. It is lightweight, which is ideal for carrying with you over a large range and staying in one spot for extended periods. It can clip onto a belt or onto your back with an attachment on the join between net and handle and the included elastic cord with carabiner provides an extra level of security against loss in flowing water. You can position this net around your outer clothing in whichever way is best for you, allowing you to cast safely and be mindful when wading in tricky spots.
A telescopic handle increases the versatility of this net, making it ideal to use with the longer rods that are often used to fish for sea trout and similar. The handle extends from 25cm to 43cm in length. The head and net are easily large enough for big predators, coming in at a generous 55cm x 45cm across and 40cm deep. The lightweight nature of the Prorex Wading Net is due in no small part to the silicone-coated mesh, which saves a lot of weight when compared to rubber-coated nets. This aspect also has benefits for fish care.
Whether you plan to take your game fish or return it, keeping it in top condition is just good practice and fish care is an increasingly important priority for anglers of all disciplines. The coated net mesh is less abrasive to scales and helps the fish retain its protective mucous layer. It’s also super-easy to clean and dry, helping to reduce water cross-contamination and make your car/garage/shed a more pleasant place because it does not retain odour or debris.
Daiwa uses 50 years of fishing tackle experience and contact with the worldwide angling community to design specialist gear like the Prorex predator line. Innovation and precision manufacturing are the cornerstones of this mission but the accessible pricing is what makes Prorex predator tackle an option worth serious consideration.
