Daiwa Supercast Surf Rod
If you’re passionate about sea fishing then you’ve probably already heard all about the world renowned Supercast rods from Daiwa. Famous for its continued innovation and inability to rest of its laurels, Daiwa has been working hard over the years since the original Supercast series was released in order to find ways of improving the range. After much testing and modification, the brand new Supercast Surf Rods were released on the market and they have already sparked rave reviews from anglers up and down the country.
One of the features that was the first to receive an update on the new rods was the guides. Guides are some of the most important features on your rods as they provide a precision path for your line to travel down in order to create an accurate cast, so when Daiwa examined the guides on the old model rod the team thought it was high time for an update. Stainless Fuji K guides are not only resistant to saltwater wear but they also provided the added benefit of reducing the potential for backlash on the cast. Backlash is one of the more irritating side effects of repeated distance casting so any feature that aims to counteract potential backlash soon becomes much loved.
The multiplier version of these rods, designed to be used with one of Daiwa’s multiplier reels, have been fitted with parallel handles. This allows the sliding reel seat to be positioned either high or low on the rod, according to your preference. Daiwa has even included a set of coasters in this reel package, too, for old-school anglers who prefer the more traditional method. The fixed spool version, built for Daiwa’s fixed spool reels, have a lower casting rating of 7oz to match the trend of fishing with lower weighted terminal tackle.
