Among those of us in the match fishing circuit the name Team Daiwa is synonymous with precision, power, performance, and, above all, success. Daiwa does not award the Team Daiwa name to its match fishing reels lightly – the reels have to earn the name. This collection of Team Daiwa Match Reels more than does this and these reels are all examples of Daiwa’s finest match fishing work.

Available in sizes 3012 and 4012, although the two models share a lot of the same features they also differ in key areas to make two unique reels that have been precision designed with unique purposes in mind. Both models share the patented Air Bail feature. Air Bail refers to Daiwa’s especially designed hollow tubular bail arm. This bail arm is completely free of protrusions, ensuring that loose line (often experienced after a powerful cast, especially when slack line fishing) doesn’t snag when it moves onto the line roller. This line roller has been fitted with Daiwa’s Twist Buster II technology, to ensure that you don’t experience any line twist – even when fishing with a braided line or a thin mono.

Daiwa’s Digigear technology has been revolutionising its reels, so it was only right that it featured on these Team Daiwa Match Reels. Digigear is a digital gearing system that ensures a perfect mesh between the drive gear and the pinion, maximising the power performance. The 3012 has a gear ratio of 4.7:1 and the larger 4012 has a ratio of 4.9:1. These ensure that you can achieve a huge amount of retrieve. The larger 4012 is also fitted with a T-shaped handle knob, to give you enhanced grip when tackling those hard fighting fish.

Both models are fitted with Daiwa’s impressive HIP line clip – allowing you to fish on the button every time. Fitted with six bearings, two of which are corrosion resistant, these reels are smooth performing and a dream to use.
