The Dutch tackle brand, Gunki, was founded by Carl Visser in 2008. As an avid angler, Visser quickly opted for fishing as a branch from his hobby, and in particular white fish and competition fishing as a speciality. In 2014 the company expanded to meet the needs of predator fishing where they now specialise. The company try to help provide quality products to best meet the needs and budget of their customers and range from an assortment of items for the hobbyist and for the "professional".
Bring revolutionary style to the ultimate predator session with the Gunki Street Fishing Lure Rod. Featuring the iconic Gunki skull on the end of the rod butt. A lovely feature for any Gunki fans. The appearance of the rod continues to be amplified by its Concept Street Fishing colours of orange and green, combined with the cord and matt blacks, this a stunner of a rod appearance alone.
The rod features a hollow carbon tip that gives this rod an ultra-fast action with an exceptional sensitivity. This means you can feel even the tiniest of plucks and knocks can be registered and the smallest of contacts with the bait. The carbon tip is the first part of the rod that absorbs the force of the strike as a shock absorber and protects the high modulus carbon blank of the rod against overloading and fishing. The rod comes on a range of lengths: 228cm with a casting weight of 3-15g, 240cm with a casting weight of 0.5-7g and 210cm with a casting weight of 1.5-10g.
A rod of this type is ideal for large game fishing, or when fishing extremely heavy cover or weeds. A fast action rod will allow you to set the hook hard and powerfully. Musky, pike and largemouth bass are suited to this style of rod. Fast action rods are great for most species where a short to long casting distance is involved and single hooks are the rule, such as worm and jig fishing.
The Street Fishing rod also makes it is possible to cast small and very small lures precisely and at an acceptable distance as it is very suited to the lighter lures. These small floats are the ideal tool for a lot of fine techniques such as drop shot. The tips are also cushioned so that the force of striking is absorbed, helping to avoid hook pulls.
Tactile, powerful and well balanced, Gunki achieves a versatile lure rod designed for true specimen hunters.
