Description

As with all angling, the most important piece of tackle you'll own as a fly fisher is your reel.  From an aesthetic aspect, there can be few things more satisfying than watching a rippling fly line arc out from a reel that's built for purpose, and designed to deliver.

The Ultralite ASR Reel, from Hardy, is exactly that – a fly fishing reel that's designed to deliver, and built for purpose.  A subtle yet striking cassette system reel, the ASR in the name stands for Assisted Spool Release, and makes the reel easy to fit, use, and respool, even for a novice, or someone who hasn't been fly fishing for a while. The Hardy Ultralite comes with Line ID system, making it easy to set the various lines that make up a comprehensive fly system, and keep track of them in action. The 340 disc drag is colour coded, which doesn't just look good, but also makes it effortless for beginner fly fishers to get to grips with, giving you the best chance of success.

A new and improved cassette reel from Hardy, the Ultralite ASR is 15% lighter than its closest predecessor, but still packs all the performance punch and enhanced attributes you'd expect from one of fly fishing's most illustrious names. There's also a new, smaller, #4/5 size, which completes the full range of sizes offered on the Ultralite ASR, and is perfect for river fishing.

A full range of spares are available to purchase for the Ultratite, as with any Hardy reel, and this reel itself comes supplied with a spare spool and carry case, so you're ready, almost straight away, to head out and start fishing.

A striking-looking reel, especially with its gold centre, the Ultralight ASR is guaranteed to look the part wherever you're fly fishing, whether you're pursuing trout, salmon, carp, or even letting yourself in for the thrills and spills of fishing for predators on the fly.

The oldest fishing brand in Britain, Hardy has been synonymous with quality, precision tackle since 1874, as a logical progression from gunsmithing, the first discipline to experience the Hardy quality, out of Alnwick, Northumberland, just two years earlier. When it comes to fishing reels, Hardy is a brand that successfully pairs innovation and style with superior quality, creating a tackle range that no angler would want to be without.

If you need a reel range that offers sizes to suit all styles, and you're looking for lightweight performance that's easy to handle and looks good on the water, then the Hardy Ultralite ASR could see your fishing session fly, whatever you're targeting, and wherever you are.
