JRC Contact 1 Man Bivvy
If you’re looking for a highly spacious one man bivvy that will see you through you lifetime of carp fishing then you need look no further. This version of the JRC Contact Bivvy One Man is the updated edition of the best selling original, boasting all the features which made it a firm favourite among the most dedicated anglers out there, as well as some added extras which set it apart from the rest.
The first thing you’ll notice about this bivvy, if you were a fan of the original, is that it has kept the famous two rib design. This ensures that the bivvy is amazingly quick to erect and you could easily use this bivvy for your most mobile overnight angling sessions. It even comes supplied with it own heavy duty carry bag, for ease of transportation. The bivvy can go from being in the bag to completely erect in less than three minutes, too. This means that, should you arrive on the bank in the driving rain, you can set up your shelter and get all your gear undercover in no time at all. It also means that you can focus the bulk of your time on the bank to the thing that really matters, your angling, rather than wrestling with your shelter.
The carry bag for the bivvy is one of the areas where you’ll see significant improvement over the original and it has been fitted with new mesh sleeves. Not only does this mean that the bivvy dries quickly and effectively even when packed away damp, but it also significantly lowers the overall carry weight. In fact, this JRC Contact Bivvy One Man tips the scales at only 5.8kg. This is outstanding light for a bivvy with so much interior space and it ensures that you never feel weighed down by your gear on the bank. This further increases the bivvy’s ability to be used by the mobile angler and it is also the ideal option for the angler looking to consolidate their gear into one easy to manage bundle.
The JRC Contact Bivvy OneMan is manufactured from the same strong 210 denier oxford nylon material as the original bivvy. This offers a hydrostatic head of 5,000mm and has been PU coated in order to ensure that it is 100% waterproof. To further improve the bivvy’s waterproof credentials, the JRC Contact Bivvy OneMan features double taped seams throughout. This is because seams tend to be the area of most bivvies which are most liable to leakages, due to the holes created in the stitching process. Taping the seams prevents this from occurring, ensuring your bivvy is completely watertight.
The JRC Contact Bivvy One Man has three door options. The first of these is the standard solid green infill option. This is ideal when the wind is high, the rain is pouring, and you want privacy inside your bivvy. The second option is the classic mosquito mesh insert, which is favoured by anglers in the warmer summer months when you want to experience a gentle breeze through the bivvy. The final option is a clear window. This is every bit as waterproof and windproof as the main solid door, but it offers the added bonus of letting light into the bivvy and enabling you to see out to keep an eye on your swim at all times.
For all these features you might be expecting this bivvy to cost a pretty penny. However, you’ll be very pleased to hear that the JRC Contact Bivvy OneMan offers exceptional value for money and it comes in at a very entry level price. This makes it the ideal option for the dedicated and novice angler alike, as it has buckets of features whilst remaining in budget for all.
