Okuma Artics RTX FD Reel
This Okuma Artics RTX FD is a spinning reel that makes life as easy for you as it makes it hard for the fish. Ideal for both sea fishing and freshwater spinning, this reel has been built to Okuma’s famously high standards and has been finished with stunning red, black, and silver cosmetics.
The Okuma Artics RTX FD is an exceptionally lightweight reel. This is thanks in part to its C-40X carbon frame, sideplate, and rotor. C-40X is 25% lighter and 50% stronger than a traditional graphite frame, ensuring that your reel is kept perfectly rigid whilst still maintaining a weightless feel on your rod. A multi-disc oiled felt drag system ensures that the reel is able to exert huge fish pulling power with a smooth consistency. This drag system is based on a popular Japanese design that has been making wave on the Japanese coastline and is ideal for all manner of spin fishing. This drag has been sealed with Hydro-Block, Okuma’s unique waterproofing system, to ensure it doesn’t suffer any corrosion from dried saltwater.
The gear system is equally strong and has been constructed with extra light aluminium alloy (Alumi Lite) to maintain the reels feather light weight. The gears are in Okuma’s classic elliptical shape – which has been proven to give more consistent torque building power throughout the rotation cycle than traditional circular gear systems. They have been precision machined, too, ensuring a perfect mesh for maximum power conversion with minimal wear and tear.
The handle on the reel is fitted with either a lightweight barrel-shaped EVA grip (for reels sizes 25 through to 40) or a durable ergonomic grip knob (for sizes 55 through to 80). This ensures that for the larger sizes you have the additional grip that you require for handling those bigger fish.
