Savage Gear Hop Popper Frog Floating Lure - Gill

Savage Gear Hop Popper Frog Floating Lure – Gill

Savage Gear Hop Popper Frog Floating Lure – Gill is a topwater frog imitation designed for explosive surface predator fishing, making it ideal for targeting pike and other predators hiding in dense cover. It performs best on lakes, canals and slow-moving rivers where fish sit under weed mats, lily pads or shaded margins.

Built specifically for topwater fishing tactics, this lure allows you to fish areas that are normally difficult to reach. Its weedless design enables it to move cleanly over heavy vegetation and snaggy ground, helping you access fish holding in tight, protected spots.

The design includes a hollow, compressible body that collapses when a fish strikes, exposing the hooks to improve hook-up rates while maintaining snag resistance during the retrieve. A wide gap, upward-pointing hook system further enhances hooking efficiency when fishing through thick cover.

The rubber skirt legs and detailed finishing help create subtle movement and realism on the surface without compromising the lure’s ability to stay weedless. Its compact size (around 5.5cm / 15g) makes it easy to fish accurately in small pockets where fish are feeding.

Savage Gear has a strong reputation for innovative predator lures, and this frog reflects that brand credibility, delivering a well-designed topwater option for challenging conditions.
