The Shakespeare SKP Concept Barbel Fishing Rod has been specifically designed to give the angler a rod that is the perfect solution for catching barbel from a wide range of rivers. However, these fishing rods are not just tools for barbel fishing, but can also be used for targeting other specimen fish from both still and moving waters such as Tench, Bream and Chub.
These Barbel Fishing Rods have been built around a strong and 24T/30T mixed carbon rod blank, with plenty of power in the butt section of the rod to allow the angler to tame even the most powerful of barbel, whereas the tip section is soft enough to prevent hook pulls and allow great bite indication. Featuring LS guides that also allow your fishing line to flow freely making it easier to cast whether it be thick mono fishing line or braided line, great when needing to cast towards the far bank of large powerful rivers. Shakespeare have incorporated a LS reel seat so that you can use a wide range of fishing reels from small fixed spool reels to large freespool reels.
Available in a range of test curves including; 1.75lb, 2lb and 2.25lb. These 12ft Shakespeare rods are perfect for catching barbel from all types of rivers, whether it be a small river that you can jump across, or a powerful wide tidal river. These test curves also make these fishing rods perfect for fishing specimen method feeder and maggot feeder tactics for carp, tench and bream. All of these barbel fishing rods are supplied in their own cloth rod bag which makes transport and storage of these fishing rods quick and easy. Also featuring a full cork handle to give the angler the optimum grip when casting and playing specimen sized fish.
