Shakespeare Supra Beach / Pier Rod
The Shakespeare Supra Beach and Pier Rod is just one of the top level rods in the Shakespeare Sigma Supra range, which has been designed to sit perfectly between the brand’s Omni and Agility sea fishing rod ranges. If you’re looking for a rod that is ideal for bass fishing either from the beach or off a pier then this is the ideal rod for you. It also performs well with a variety of other species, again either from the beach or the pier, and it can offer an excellent versatile all-round performance across the sea fishing discipline.
The Shakespeare Supra Beach/Pier Rod is manufactured from 24t carbon. This ensures that the blanks can remain exceptionally strong whilst also being slim and lightweight. In fact, this rod will surprise you with its strength to diameter ratio and it is more than capable of standing up to the most aggressive opponent you’ll face when you’re beach or pier fishing from the UK’s coastline. The rod is fitted with high end titanium oxide guides. These are incredibly hard wearing and have been designed with sea fishing in mind. This means that the guides are incredibly resistant to the kind of corrosion that can occur when a line crusted with dried sea water whips through them.
The rod offers a rubber shrink wrap handle. This is once again not only incredibly resistant to corrosion but it also ensures that you get a superb grip – even when you’re fighting an incredibly challenging opponent. The rod comes supplied in a cloth bag in order to keep it scratch free in storage and in transit, although the angler who doesn’t want to take any risks with their tackle might also want to invest in a more sturdy piece of luggage in which they can transport their rod two and from the beach. This is a 10ft rod with an optimal casting range of 4oz to 8oz.
