Shimano Aernos Fishing Sunglasses
Sunlight can be the angler’s biggest enemy. Causing nearly impenetrable glare, particularly when the sun is low in the sky at dawn and dusk, which makes it impossible to see the dark shapes of fish under the surface; headaches and eye strain, caused by squinting; and permanent damage to the skin and eye cells, a sunny day can almost spell disaster for a good session down at the bank. However, all anglers would agree that is it much more enjoyable to be down on the bank with the sun warming us and all of nature’s beauty surrounding us, rather than spending the day huddled shivering in our bivvies only creeping out when our bite alarm shrieks. The trick is being able to get the best of both worlds – all of the enjoyment of the sun with limited risks. This is where a good pair of sunglasses comes into play; Shimano’s Aernos Sunglasses are just that!
Constructed from Grilamid TR90, Shimano has designed these sunglasses to be extremely resistant to fatigue from wear and tear. Exceptionally stable, Grilamid is resistant to perspiration, so unlike other sunglasses it retains its colour for significantly longer, as well as being resistant to the chemicals found in certain cosmetic products, such as foundation.
The frame is lightweight and is in a gloss black colour with fantastic red highlights. This design has been created to complement the Shimano Aernos reel, although it would look fabulous with any number of Shimano products. The striking red highlights on the arms and nose-rest of the glasses really sets these glasses apart from the rest.
These Aernos Sunglasses have been fitted with polarised lenses. These have been especially designed to reduce the glare that you experience from the water – enabling you to better see below the water’s surface to your quarry. Glare reduction is useful on even overcast days, so these sunglasses come in useful all year round. These lenses are ultra-thin to ensure that these glasses are as lightweight as possible.
