The Shimano Kairiki G5 Braided Fishing Line maintains all of the characteristics of Shimano fishing braids, with the advantage of sinking performance. Manufactured using 4 carrier Japanese PE braid strands, with an additional high density, heavy core, Kairiki G5 is less affected by wind or current. Perfect for a range of fishing situations including lure fishing with deeper diving lures, jigging with softbaits or even feeder fishing for carp and bream.

This Shimano Kairiki braid is a fantastic sinking braid to choose if you fish with a lot of deep working lures, or want a braid for feeder or carp fishing. The addition of an additional strand of heavy, super dense fibre to the 4 carrier design creates a sinking braid that easily cuts through the water’s surface tension and slowly sinks. When working deep lures you’ll feel in more direct contact, especially in windy conditions when the surface tow can create unwanted bows and slack line. For carp and feeder fishing, especially at long range, the sinking Kairiki G5 is a game changer.

The VT Construction Method used by Shimano to make Kairiki G5 combines 4 normal carrier strands together with an additional super dense ‘sinking’ fibre, under a constant and even multi-angle tension. This enables each strand to compress and sit perfectly next to the adjacent strands, forming a more compact, rounder profile braid. The tighter weave results is reduced diameter, increased sensitivity and a smoother finish, which contributes to the improved performance characteristics of this Shimano braid.
