When it comes to extreme distance casting, more speed equals more distance. That's why we have used Ci4 (an exclusive blend of carbon and polyamide), to build the super lightweight "Big Pit" Ultegra XSA Ci4. The largest 14000 model weighs in at only 640g, a saving of over 15% on previous models, making it easier to move during the cast which generates more tip speed in the rod.
Fitted with all of the best "S" System features, plus a Cold Forged AR-C spool, closer meshed Aerowrap II, along with 2 speed oscillation for unparalleled line lay, when it comes to distance the Ultegra XSA easily gives you more.
Available in two large sizes (10000 and 14000) and two medium sizes (4500 and 5500), all models have 5 shielded AR-B ball bearings plus a roller bearing and an easy maintenance port for simple lubrication to keep the Ultegra running perfectly. The front drag offers precise control when playing fish and works in harmony with the powerful single handle that keeps you in control at all times. For extreme distance anglers you'll be pleased to know that not only does the Ultegra Ci4 cast further, all models retrieve over 100cm of line with every turn of the handle.
Instant Drag: The Instant Drag system allows you to adjust the clutch from free spool to fight in only a few turns. In the interests of fish safety and the environment, please ensure that you do not exceed the breaking strain of the mono/braid when tightening the drag
S-ARB: The original high corrosion resistant A-RB ball bearing with a shielding for improved protection and sealed lubrication
AR-C SPOOL: A spool design with a V-shape spool lip ensuring that the line comes off the reel in smaller loops for further and more accurate casting. The AR-C spool will minimise the risk of backlash
CI4: The strength and rigidity of a metal bodied reel at a significantly reduced weight. Technology from the ultra-demanding world of competitive pro cycling backed by seven wins in the toughest race of them all: the Tour de France. Zero corrosion, longer gear life plus stunning looks. CI4 is a material created by the interfusion of carbon and polyamide. Initially developed by our cycling division for the Dura Ace brake bracket, a flagship technology which has now made the transition into the bodies of fishing reels. The upshot is a reel whose precision inner workings are housed within a protective shell with all the performance advantages of metal but weighing less and therefore reducing arm fatigue whilst increasing feel and balance through the rod
Aero Wrap II: By improving the internal friction efficiency Shimano succeeded in bringing its line lay systems close to perfection. Close parallel coils in combination with 2 speed oscillation ensure smoother and longer casting
Magnesium Coating: The magnesium alloy used to construct the SR reels exhibit excellent corrosion resistance. The surface is further protected with a proprietary Shimano corrosion-resistant finish, especially important in highly corrosive environments like saltwater fishing. Close parallel coils in combination with 2 speed oscillation result in smoother and further casting
SR One-Piece Bail: This one-piece bail arm has no gap for line to snag on during normal operation. Made of Stainless Steel, it reduces friction and allows the line to get onto the line roller quicker
HD Gear: The HD (High Durability) gear is a further improvement of the famous Shimano 3D Gears. Applying a special new coating results in a much stronger and smoother running gear system
Rigid Support Drag: This feature virtually eliminates spool wobble, even at light drag settings. The result is an incredibly smooth drag whatever the setting
SR Guard Fin: The SR Guard Fins are coated with Titanium. You can find them strategically placed on the Rotor and several parts of the Body to protect the reel from impact damage
SR 3D Gear: This oversized Drive Gear was designed with 3D Analysis. This allows the surface of each tooth to be contoured exactly to the tooth shape of the pinion gear, resulting in more surface contact between these components. This, in turn, means increased smoothness, torque, efficiency and durability
SR Handle: This handle screws directly into the drive gear, resulting in zero play between the handle and gear. The 1000 size handle is a very thin solid shank, whereas the larger sizes use a hollow handle shank, that reduces weight while maintaining strength and durability

Return of goods & Refunds
