The Shimano Yasei range was designed with the wilder side of fishing in mind and this Monster rod has been purpose built to be able to tackle the biggest fish you can imagine – both from the bank and the boat. The 315cm version of the Yasei STC Monster has been built heavier and with fishing from the bank in mind, where as the shorter 240cm version has been purpose built for boat fishing.

Both rods boast an HPC100 carbon blank. HPC refers to the curing process that the blank undertook and stands for High Pressure Carbon. This means that during the heating and curing process, the blank was exposed to extreme pressure. This stops the integral resin from finding its way to the surface of the blank and instead ensures an even distribution of the resin throughout the blank. By forcing even resin distribution in this way, an HPC blank is up to 40% stronger and more durable than blanks made using traditional methods. The number after HPC (in this case 100) refers to the quantity of carbon used, with the higher the number the greater the quantity. In this instance, the HPC100 blank has also been mixed with Biofibre. This is a natural reinforcement technology which ensures the blank is as strong as possible without sacrificing the slimness of the blank. Fuji grips, alconite guides, and EVA grips finish this stunning white rod perfectly.

With the boat and bank Yasei Monster coming in four and five sections respectively it is clear to see how this rod complies with the Shimano Travel Concept. A ‘boot friendly’ rod, the Yasei Monster STC packs down to 66cm or 68.5cm (again for the shorter and longer rods respectively). This makes it ideal for storage in your boot and ensures that you’re always able to hit the water should the opportunity arise and the Yasei Monster STC is perfect for close range carp fishing, as well as predator fishing across the disciplines.
