Angling Technics Procat MkIII
Angling Technics has been firmly at the forefront of bait boat innovation for over two decades, and this latest economically minded offering reflects exactly the distance the company have come over the last 20 years. The Procat MKIII was developed as the economic crises of 2008 and 2010 were in full swing, and was released as a direct response to the dwindling funds that many anglers faced. The Procat MKIII has all the features and functionality of Angling Technics’ pricier offerings, but at a much more affordable price point, allowing anglers the opportunity to play with the cutting edge of bait boat technology without breaking the bank.
Taking inspiration from the stability of the twin hull catamaran design, the Procat MKIII offers outstanding stability even in rough water conditions. This ensures that you’ll always be able to use this bait boat with confidence, no matter the weather conditions. Similar to the Microcat MKII in many ways, there are a number of subtle differences to the Procat MKIII which really set it apart from other bait boats on the market today. Firstly, it is fitted with a single bait hopper in the hull, which, with a capacity of 0.75kg, provides ample bait space for a single rod baiting session. This is a boat which has been designed with short session and roving angling in mind, rather than triple rod carp fishing. However, if you’re prepared to head out and back with your boat a number of times, this bait boat can serve admirably in all scenarios – especially considering its size. This boat has a 90 minute run time from a single charge, which is ideal for most day session needs. You might be surprised that the boat can offer this impressive run time, especially considering it weighs in at a mere 2.75kg (with the weight of the battery included). This is because the Procat MKIII is powered with a propeller based system rather than a jet propulsion, ensuring the less energy is required for the boat to travel the same distance. This represents a significant increase from the running times of both the Microcat and the original Angling Technics Baitboat, too.
The Angling Technics Procat MKIII is driven via a simple double joystick system. The left hand joy stick controls your light brightness, ensuring that you can use this bait boat in low light conditions as well as through the night – should you be enjoying a quick overnighter. The right hand joy stick provides directional control. This is one bait boat which is incredibly easy to manoeuvre on the water, thanks to its dual reversible drives. What’s more, this is an incredibly low profile boat, allowing you to get under low overhanging foliage with ease. This is the perfect no-frills bait boat for anyone looking to make their first foray into the highly technological side of the angling world. The increase in catch rate between anglers who do and do not use bait boats cannot be overstated, and no other angling products can allow you to deliver you bait to the fish with the extreme accuracy of the bait boat.
With dimensions of 62cm x 28cm x 13.5cm Angling Technics’ Procat MKIII is the optimum baiting tool for the mobile angler who likes to travel light whilst still having all the latest in angling technology. If you’re looking for a top quality bait boat which won’t weight down your tackle bag then you need look no further. The Procat MKIII is the perfect solution for all your bait distribution needs – and, what’s more, it won’t put too much strain on your purse strings!
