The Chub Outkast Bivvy is a versatile option if you’re looking for shelter on the bank when chasing carp. The bivvy itself is great for spring and summer and has all the little extras that make a difference to anglers sleeping or fishing ‘under canvas’, such as a large front peak, full waterproofing, swappable door and window panels, and a whole lot more.

When the sun starts tracking lower in the sky and the wind starts to get a bit lazy, wouldn’t it be preferable to keep using your usual bivvy instead of having to invest in and store a whole new winter system? Well, you can beef up the Outkast Bivvy with a bivvy wrap and the Chub Outkast Bivvy Overwrap has been custom-made for the job.

Fitting snugly over the shelter, this wrap provides extra insulation by trapping a thin layer of air between it and the base system. It has the same letterbox-style door as the bivvy but, because the wrap extends over the door peak, a small gap is created between the two doors which can act as space to keep muddy boots and other items you don’t want to have in the main sleeping area. You’re able to swap out the door’s fabric panel for transparent window or mozzy mesh, too.

Just like the bivvy, it’s made from fully waterproof fabric with a 10,000mm hydrostatic head rating. This is a measure of waterproofing which means a narrow column of water 10m in height will be supported by the fabric without leaking. That’s seriously waterproof! To prevent the build-up of condensation and to promote good airflow, the wrap includes the same Back Draft Ventilation as the bivvy, for uninterrupted fresh air when you need it.

The handy rod strap including on the roof of the bivvy has also been replicated on the wrap so you don’t lose that facility, it is supplied with plenty of heavy-duty T-pegs and has an oversized carry bag. There are two versions of the bivvy and this wrap is available in two sizes to suit: the 1-man version has dimensions of 2.7m x 2.55m x 1.44m (W x D x H), the 2-man version comes in at 3.5m x 2.95m x 1.6m (W x D x H), and they weigh 3.8kg and 4.2kg respectively.
