The original Caldia broke new ground in the fixed spool reel arena and this updated version builds on the success of its predecessor. Built on Daiwa’s brand new Real Four concept, this reel offers power and durability for all spinning activities, whether you prefer fresh water or sea fishing.

The power in the reel comes from a combination of Daiwa’s best loved technologies. This includes the remastered Digigear II, a muscular gearing system which ensures a perfect mesh between the gears each time. The machine cut handle is constructed from aluminium and ensures that you’ll be able push all your power into the gearing system with full confidence. The Ultimate Tournament Drag – a high powered drag system built with impregnated discs that are 30 times more durable than standard drag discs – offers smooth fish fighting with precision reaction to every run.

On the casting side of things this reel is a dream to operate. Built with an Anti-Backlash System II spool, the Caldia ensures that you’re able to hit all the points you want with ease. Silent Oscillation ensures that you’re able to achieve a perfect line lay each time – giving you that vital casting advantage. The body of the reel is constructed from Zaion, Daiwa’s ultra-light, ultra-strong, and ultra-rigid material which offers maximum performance durability throughout its life. This is complemented with the reel’s Air Rotor and Air Bail systems. Both as lightweight and durable as the body, the combination of the three creates a workhorse reel that is a pleasure to operate. The whole reel is Mag Sealed. This makes it an ideal saltwater reel, as it stops corrosive saltwater from entering the body of the reel and damaging the internal mechanisms. On the freshwater side, it also stops any grit – which could cause serious friction wear – from entering the reel.
