Daiwa Lexa Spinning Rod
Daiwa’s Lexa series has already proven to be incredibly popular among fly fishing fanatics and the production of a Spinning Rod felt like a natural progression for the brand. This rod is also the beneficiary of Daiwa’s infamous ‘trickle down’. Daiwa is a brand that is constantly looking for the next great breakthrough in technology and, as a result, technologies put at play on its top end products often soon end up on products at a markedly lower price tag. This Lexa Spinning is evidence of this and this rod boasts an X45 construction. X45 is a unique carbon fibre construction which gives increased torsion resistance, enabling you to build a huge amount of power. Unlike traditional carbon fibre, which is layered at 90 degrees to one-another, X45 is layered at 45 degrees. This makes X45 rods effectively distortion proof and the rod can offer the perfect marriage between strength, control, and elasticity.
The Lexa Spinning Rod doesn’t just use X45 carbon but also HVF. HVF is a high volume carbon fibre, giving the rod exceptional durability and allowing the rod to build an incredible amount of power on each cast. There are five different models in the Lexa Spinning range. The smallest of the set comes in at 7ft and it offers a casting weight range of 3-15g. This enables the rod to transmit great feeling, even after delicate takes. In contrast, the largest 10ft model allows you to cast lures between 30g and 60g, enabling you to tackle the largest predators with complete confidence. This vast range of rod lengths and casting weights ensures that this is a highly versatile range and there’s a Daiwa Lexa Spinning Rod out there for every type of spinning activity. A Fuji reel seat, high stand-off aluminium oxide guides, cork handle, and hook keeper finish the rod perfectly.
