Daiwa Opus Reels
Daiwa is a brand that is famous for its continued innovation and development and this new Opus reel combines a more compact build with a retrieve that’s quicker than ever. An exceptionally high powered reel, the Daiwa Opus more than delivers in the power stakes and offers an unbelievable 95cm of line retrieve with each handle turn. This means that when you’re trying to tackle a big hard fighting fish, or you’re trying to drag a large fish through snaggy waters, this reel is equipped to give you the best possible chance of landing your catch. With an impressive 15kg of power in the gear system this reel can deal with anything you throw at it and the machine cut handle gives ergonomic delivery of power. Quick drag also allows you to operate the drag function within half a turn, ensuring you can lock down instantly when you’re into a big fish.
This isn’t the only impressive feature of the Opus and this reel features all of the exceptional technologies that you will have come to demand from a Daiwa reel. One such feature is the impressive TwistBuster line roller. This simple addition to the classic line roller system not only preserves the life of your line but it also ensures that you don’t experience any line twist. AirBail, Daiwa’s innovative tubular bail arm system, operates in conjunction with this and offers the protrusion free delivery of line from the bail to the roller – eliminating the risk of snagging. The spool operates on Daiwa’s Anti Backlash System and is constructed from lightweight aluminium. This ensures that line is released from the spool is large and even coils, reducing the risk of tangles to almost zero. Ball bearings ensure that the whole reel is silky to use, even when you’re hard into an aggressive take.
