ESP Strip Teaze Coated Braid

The ideal hooklink, ESP’s Strip Teaze is a coated braid which is versatile enough to be used in a number of situations. Constructed from braided Dyneema (an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) this hooklink is incredibly durable and coated in translucent polymer. The Dyneema core of this hooklink has improved colourfast staying power, ensuring that the line doesn’t wash out after only a couple of uses. The ESP Strip Teaze is available in two colours, making it suitable for most angling situations – the green colour is especially suited to angling in weedy waters and the brown is ideal for fishing on gravel.

Currently available in a 12lb breaking strain, this hooklink comes supplied on a wide diameter spool. This removes the risk of kinks in the hooklink caused by tight coils and the Strip Teaze Coated Braid is incredibly easily to smooth out without the need for steam or heat. Thanks to the polymer coating, the Strip Teaze offers fantastic rigidity. This means that the hooklink can fall right away from the lead to its extended length.

One of the biggest benefits of the polymer coating is how easily it can be stripped away from the Dyneema colourfast core. This allows you to create a flexible hinge in your hooklink – ideal when fishing with pop-up rig setups. The polymer coating also has the benefit of a specific gravity, which means that it is adequately weighted so it sinks without the need for any additional weights. However, if you are fishing on a pop-up rig setup you might like to pinch some tungsten putty or a place a small shot around the last section of coating. This will not damage the Dyneema colourfast core but will ensure that your hooklink only lifts where you intend it to.
