The best way to minimise the risk of getting cut off or snagged up by a carp or tench is to use a snag leader between your mainline and hook link.
Snag leader is super strong and has an ultra-high abrasion resistance, meaning if you’re fishing tight to a fallen tree and your latest catch manages to navigate into the snag, despite your drag being set tight, you can be confident that your snag leader will withstand abrasion against the branches of the tree, certainly a lot more than a monofilament mainline would do.
Fox Snag Leader Line is very low in stretch and has very little memory, which not only exacerbates its abrasion resistance but also lends itself to exceptional knot strength, a double grinner knot to attach the snag leader to your mainline will hold strong throughout your session and ensure you bank more fish.
This particular snag leader is in Fox’s Camo colourway, camouflaging it against the lakebed further increasing your chances of a bite and is available in 30lb (0.47mm), 40lb (0.57mm) and 50lb (0.66mm).
