Ian Chillcott - Fanning The Flames Book,
Fanning The Flames is the eagerly awaited follow up to Chillys first autobiography, Light My Fire! and is set to become a best-seller!
The tome begins way back in 1966 when the initial spark ignited his carp fishing passion, and explains a little more about the man himself. The story of the journey, however, starts at the very moment he pushed his barrow away from the swim at Frimley where he achieved his lifelong obsession of catching a common equal to Walkers 1952 record. The variety of environments Chilly finds himself in is breathtaking, and the number of big carp from so many different waters certainly makes you believe in the magic of your dreams.
Much like Chillys incredible 22-year military career, which found him soldiering in various countries in all Continents of the world, his carp fishing has seen him angling on a multitude of different waters. Chilly takes the reader through a vast array of different angling situations, that dont all necessarily revolve around big carp. The biggest carp arent always the most vital aspect of his fishing, but as long as they are special to him then they will always appear on his must have list.
This isnt a story solely about his personal quests either, as it includes the making of many TV programmes, and travelling on behalf of the companies that support him in his carp fishing. Loyalty is probably the greatest word in Chillys life, and his association with Mainline Baits for 23 years, and Fox for 15 years would underline that. He isnt the kind of guy to sit it out on a water year after year. As he often says, our existence on this planet is very limited and we should all get as much from it as we can. We only have one life so live it!
