The sling mat has a dual purpose of allowing you to first unfold the mat flat out, ready to place the fish for unhooking or inspection in a short period of time. The waterproof material makes it ideal as an unhooking mat, with one side bouncing off the water from the carp, the offer deflecting any water residue from the bank.

The full zip not only allows you to lay the mat out flat when unhooking but also gives ease when returning the captured fish back to the water safely. As well as the zip, the handles at the top help carry the sling in commute, weight the fish and an easier way to securely hold the sling as the fish returns to water. These handles are reinforced diagonally along the centre to the corners of the mat to balance and distribute weight more equally when weighing the fish. This reinforcement also gives extra security when holding a fish so you will not suddenly drop the mat or the fish.

The resistance to water enables the sling mat to quickly dry for when packing up, making it faster and easier to clean away.
