Carp angling can take you to some truly stunning places, but it can also bring you up against bankside terrain which really isn’t tackle friendly, especially not when that tackle is expensive, high-performance rods.
As a carp angler, you will typically be using multiple rods in the swim, as these intelligent and cautious fish often need to be given different types of bait, presented at different distances and levels, in different styles, before they’ll grace you with a take. A multi-rod set up also provides an easy way to encourage fish to an area of your swim where the conditions offer you the best chance of a clean catch.
So, as a committed carp angler, you may well find yourself never leaving home with fewer then three rods, and that presents the challenge of how to ensure that all of your rods make it to the bank ready to cast out. Especially if you’re barrowing over rugged ground, you’ll need a way to ensure all of your rods benefit from maximum protection, even when you’re carrying them fully tackled up and ready to fish.
That’s where the Nash12ft 3 Rod Skin comes in.
Offering maximum protection for three rods, each up to 12ft, including rods made up with 50mm ringing and big pit reels for a heavy duty, full-on carp session at a challenging venue, this rod skin separates out your rods into individual sleeves, ensuring that lines and terminal tackle set ups don’t get tangled, and preventing the rods from knocking against one another in transit. The rod skin itself features generous padding across the whole of its length, protecting your rods from knocks and scrapes caused by other items in your car boot or barrow, as well as the impact of a rocky or gravelly swim.
Full length twin zips provide easy access, so there’s no risk of your rods, reels, or terminal tackle being damaged as you take your made up rods out of the rod skin, or place them back into it at the end of your session, while a reinforced waterproof base allows you to set your fully loaded rod sleeve down almost anywhere, even on the most inhospitable banksides, without worrying that your rods will be damaged in any way.
An external, reinforced, drawstring pouch provides fully protected storage for nets, storm poles, or bank sticks, giving you the flexibility of carrying the bulk of your bankside set up in one fully functional, high-quality piece of fishing tackle luggage. The pouch is secured with webbing straps and buckles, as well as the drawstring closure, giving you complete peace of mind on particularly bumpy journeys, or when you’re carrying very small items of bankside kit.
There are also additional base pouches and webbing straps supplied with the rod skin, which allow up to two further rods to be added to the main skin, giving you the flexibility of easily bringing five rods to any swim, however distant it may be from the nearest car parking option, and however challenging the terrain you have to cross to get there.
With an adjustable, padded shoulder strap, which can easily be removed if you’re transporting the skin on a barrow, and soft, comfortable suede carry handles, moving this rod skin about, whether you’re walking it to the bank or just lifting it into and out of your car, and on and off a barrow, becomes truly effortless, with a touch of style that is the hallmark of the Nash brand.
