Okuma Trio Rex-TX-60 FD Reel
If you are looking for a new reel to sit perfectly on your top quality beach rods and complete your sea fishing outfit then you need look no further than this offering from Okuma. The Trio Rex Salt-TXS-60 FD has been designed to bring fish and heavy rigs from a long distance out in over rough and snaggy ground. Full of power, this elegant package has lots to offer for the avid saltwater anglers out there.
The Okuma Trio Rex is packed with features that set it apart from the rest, not least its multi-disc Japanese oil felt drag system. This system has been designed to make tackling big saltwater opponents smooth and effortless, and the drag has an impressive 13kg of power. Six stainless steel ball bearings do their part to assist with this, and the combination of the two makes the Okuma Trio Rex one of the most powerful and hardwearing saltwater reels that Okuma has ever produced.
A number of the internal features in this reel have been precision cut in order to give maximum power transferral between the handle and the reel itself. These include both the main gears and the pinion gear. The main gearing runs on an elliptical system. This is a system of gearing that is most often used in competitive cycling as it maximises the energy that is put through on the downward and upward strokes of the handle whilst simultaneously minimising the amount of effort required to get that same power in the intervening strokes. The pinion gear has been constructed out of brass. This is because the pinion gear is one of the areas of the reel that is under the most tension. By constructing it out of such a hardwearing material, like brass, it ensures that this gear is able to withstand extreme pressure without any loss in performance. The worm shaft transmission system ensures that every bit of power is transferred from the ergonomic handle into this powerful gearing system.
Able to cast heavy rigs far out into the water, the reel offers slow oscillation for increased casting accuracy, as well as a positive-clicking waterproof drag to give you full confidence on the beach.
