Description

Rive Competition Keepnet

Rive is one of the biggest names in match fishing over on the other side of the channel. The French brand might be most famous for its top quality seat boxes but this is by no means the only string in its bow. The brand is dedicated to the art of match fishing and it designs and manufactures a complete range of products for use across the discipline. This includes the likes of poles, carryalls, and, of course, your all important keepnet. If you’re a regular on the competitive match fishing circuit then you’ll already more than understand the importance of owning a top quality keepnet. Enabling you to store all the fish from the day in a safe and secure manner, a keepnet really is the match angler’s faithful companion on the bank. This Rive Competition Keepnet, available in two different sizes, is perfect for the avid match angler who wants a top quality keepnet bag to last then throughout their match fishing career.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Rive Competition Keepnet is its ultra-wide opening. 45cm x 35cm, this opening ensures that you’ll never have a problem getting your fish into the keepnet – even if you’ve managed to land an unexpected monster. Throughout the keepnet you’ll find several rings. These are weighted to ensure that your keepnet hangs straight in the water, preventing it from drifting in a stronger current. Not only does drift prevention aid you as it makes it easier to remove your net at the end of your session but it also plays a vital part in fish care and it ensures that your capture isn’t buffeted against the net by the flow. However, not only are these rings weighted but they are also protected. This ensures that your fish never cause themselves damage on the side of your net – after all, the small fish you catch today might be the match winning fish that helps tip your scales in the future. It is only by looking after your catch whilst they are in your care that you’re able to catch those personal best captures and this net helps to ensure that your fish are returned in the same state that you removed them.

The Rive Competition Keepnet is manufactured from an ultra-solid mesh. This means that this net will not only look after your fish but it will also look after you. As with all Rive products, this keepnet has been built to last you for a lifetime of angling. You won’t find yourself having to replace the Competition Keepnet any time soon and this products has been manufactured to Rive’s famously high standards.

The Rive Competition Keepnet is available in two lengths. The shorter option is 3m long – which is ample large enough for the storage of match-carp, as well as a range of silver fish, bream, and other such species. The longer option is 4m in length. Some British anglers might feel that this length is a touch excessive, but for the continental match angler this length is necessary for the storage of a greater number of large continental species. At the end of the day, many anglers agree that it is always best to err on the side of caution when it comes to net sizes and the worst that can happen if you use a net which is too big is that it is heavier to transport. The larger the net is, the more room your fish have to move, so it often pays to pick a slightly oversized net for your needs. A larger net also means that you have the capacity to land and retain a larger fish, should the opportunity arrive.
