There are three rods in the Rive R-Elite Match Rod collection. These span two different lengths and two different action types, in order to give you the kind of performance that you demand from a rod of this calibre. The longest rod in the range is a whopping 14ft and is also known as the R-Elite Match 420 Medium. As the name suggests, this rod offers a medium action and it has been purpose designed for all your distance match fishing. Rive is a French brand and this rod is perfectly suited to the large continental match fishing waters, so if you’re someone who likes to travel for your angling then this is the perfect tool for you. However, don’t let this length fool you into thinking that this is a weapon purely for the continental angler! If you fish on bigger UK venues then this rod could really give you the edge (and extra reach) that you need, helping you to target fish that your opponents on the bank couldn’t even dream of reaching. This rod also boasts a hefty casting weight range and it can comfortably cope with terminal tackle setups between 8g and 20g – making it the perfect all-rounder in terms of angling style. This rod is a three section outfit, with a 1.46 break-down length which makes it ideal for all manner of luggage options, and it is 187g in weight. It also has 14 line guides, ensuring that you can cast out with confidence and accuracy.
The next two rods in the range are both 13ft in length. The first rod is a light actioned rod and is often, appropriately, referred to as the Rive R-Elite Match 390 Light. This rod is ideal for all your lighter UK match fishing, as well as a range of continental options, and it offers you the kind of length and action that you would need to tackle most UK match venues with confidence. At 171g, this rod weighs in at the lowest of the range, so if you’re someone who finds themselves tiring on the bank due to heavy equipment then this could be ideal for you. It is a three section rod with a folded size of 1.35m, too, so once again it will be comfortable in all manner of your existing luggage options. This rod has the smallest casting weight range of the collection and it is able to cast setups between 4g and 12g.
The final rod in the collection is the Rive R-Elite Match 390 Medium. This is the perfect mid-point between the other two rods in the collection. Offering some of the casting action and power of the 14ft rod whilst giving you the versatility of a 13ft setup, this rod is the ultimate all-rounder in the range. Like all of the rods in the range it has a three section construction, once again with a fold down size of 1.35m, but this time it offers a casting weight range from 6g up to 16g. Both of the 13ft options have 13 line guides and this rod is a versatile match fishing machine for the dedicated match angler.
