Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Hybrid Brolly System
Rod Hutchinson was one of the most successful carp anglers of his generation and his baits and tackle revolutionised the carp fishing industry in the late 1970s and early 1980s. For anglers who want to keep mobile on the bank but who also want the freedom to spend a night, or more, in one location then it can often be hard to choose between investing in a brolly or a bivvy. A brolly gives you mobility but it lacks in warmth and year-round flexibility. A bivvy provides you with an all-seasons shelter to protect you from the elements but it can somewhat restrict your bankside movement. The Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Hybrid Brolly System is the perfect middle ground between the two shelter options, combining the quick and easy setup of a brolly with the fully-fronted protection of a bivvy. It is the ideal choice for the angler who likes to be flexible in their angling, tackling multiple venues year-round with complete confidence.
The Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Hybrid Brolly System is manufactured from a waterproof and breathable material and offers a hydrostatic head rating of 20,000mm. This is a greater hydrostatic head rating than most high-end flotation suits and it ensures that this bivvy is completely waterproof. The body of the bivvy will be instantly recognisable as a brolly and it operates on the same principle as an advanced fishing brolly. This ensures that you can enjoy maximum headroom, whilst retaining the brolly’s low profile shape, allowing you to squeeze into minute swims with confidence.
You can use the Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Hybrid Brolly System either as a as a traditional brolly, or as full bivvy system. This is because the front porch section of the bivvy is completely detachable, allowing you to choose not only whether or not to erect it but also allowing you to choose whether or not to take it to the bank in the first place. This means that if you know you’re heading down to the bank for a few hours, and the weather isn’t looking too happy, then you can simply take the brolly element of the bivvy. If you’re planning on barrowing around to find your perfect swim, potentially moving multiple times, you can set the brolly element of the bivvy up whilst keeping the porch section in your barrow until you settle down for the night. If you know that you’re heading to the bank for an extended period of time then you can go ahead and set up both the brolly and porch elements of the bivvy – creating the ultimate hybrid brolly system for a long session at the water’s edge. This gives you incredible versatility, allowing you to hit the bank in a varied manner in order to get the most out ever angling scenario.
The porch has its own internal frame and has a traditional ‘door and two windows’ setup. These come with mozzy-mesh inserts as well as the full waterproof covers, allowing you to adapt your bivvy setup no matter the weather. The door of the bivvy is dual zipped, allowing you to use in a letterbox fashion. This is ideal for the most extreme weather scenarios when you want you and your gear to be completely protected from the worst of the elements whilst also having an uninterrupted view of the swim. It also comes with a fully winterised PVC clear window fitting, for when the weather is so awful that you don’t want to risk letting any of it invade your bivvy. A wide and heavy duty PVC skirt keeps the wind out in these scenarios, too. If you are planning on spending a night by the water in the summer, the Rod Hutchinson Cabrio Hybrid Brolly System also comes with a complete zip-in mosquito panel. This attaches to the front of the brolly element of the system, giving you a combination of ventilation and mozzy protection.
