Designed with UK match fishing in mind, this Aero FA reel is built using Shimano’s new Aero concept. Featuring an oversized Aero Warp II AR-C spool, to ensure an easy cast with memory free line that sinks smoothly and quickly, this reel has a compact body. With the perfect 5.2:1 gearing for a match fishing reel, the Aero FA can bring in 93cm of line with every turn of the handle, giving it incredible cranking power for bringing in those big fish.

This Shimano Aero FS Match Reel comes fitted with X-Ship technology. A system designed with efficiency in mind, X-Ship positions the pinion much closer to the centre line of the large diameter drive gear, ensuring that maximum power is transferred from the handle to the rotor. Hypergear is also at play here and ensures that you can put in minimum effort for maximum results, achieving incredible torque with minimal component wear. This pinion gear is also supported by two Shimano A-RB bearings – corrosion resistant and shielded roller balls – in a system that Shimano terms as Floating Shaft II, ensuring stability even in the most aggressive of fights. The reel features a double handle, once again ensuring stability and balance, as well as Dyna-Balance technology to ensure you experience minimum wobble on the retrieve.

Suitable for use with a mono as well as with a braid, the AR-C spool has been proven to reduce backlash and wind knots thanks to its angled spool lip that ensures the line leaves the spool with minimal friction. The Aero FA Match Reel comes with a spare spool as standard. The reel is constructed from Shimano’s X-7 material – Shimano’s go to when they are constructing a reel that needs to be reliable, robust, and lightweight.
