Shimano was founded in 1921 and is a Japanese based company with strong environmental ethics whilst producing some of the finest fishing reels with the latest technological advancements. All of its products are geared towards creating a more holistic and authentic fishing experience.
The TX 4 range was built with one thing in mind, casting big distances without breaking the bank. With the testing of the blanks one thing became apparent, building a rod to cast a big distance is one thing, build a rod that can cast a big distance and be a pleasure to land a fish is another. Shimano has sharpened up the stiffness of the butt of the rod whilst making the rod tip soft to ensure the perfect casting capability.
The Shimano TX4 Carp Rod boasts a stiff action which is thanks to high-pressured carbon (HPC100) combines with the Biofibre blank material. The bio fibre achieves that slim, lightweight rod whereas the carbon secures the strength, power and precision within the rod blanks. The blend of these blank materials makes a blank that recovers quickly in the mid to tip section but forgiving tip providing cushion for lunging fish.
Shimano’s carp rod also features a stainless etched, anti-scratch butt cap to protect the bottom of the rod against the brutal terrains at many banksides. The rod also sports reliable Seaguide Stainless Steel SIC guides these range from 50mm to 60mm and is finished with anti-frap rings to protect your line.
Featuring a 3K Shimano Woven Tube reel seat, this rod not only speaks for those after a high performing rod as Shimano has truly considered the cosmetics too. Like the rest of the rods in the TX range, the TX 4 has a coloured strip for each section. This rod sports a subtle blue stripping which really adds to the aesthetics of this rod.
To add to the beauty, the TX 4 has an EVA full-shrink handle which offers amazing grip, creating a comfortable grasp in any angler's hand. There are a variety of lengths and test curves available in this model, starting with the shortest, the 9ft, with a test curve of 3lb. The 10ft has TC options of 2.75lb, 3lb or 3.25lb. The 12ft model comes in test curves of 2.75lb, 3.00lb and 3.25lb. There is also Intensity models of this rod in 12ft and 13ft lengths and test curves exceeding 3.5lb +.
