TF Gear Airflo Fishing Bivvy 2 Man
For the dedicated carp angler, nothing is more frustrating that wasting time on the bank setting up gear when all they really want to do is fish. Bivvies, although incredibly useful, are often seen as bulky and time consuming objects which are, reluctantly, bankside essentials. However, all this looks set to change with the brand new, innovative TF Gear Airflo Bivvy. This is the two man version of this revolutionary bivvy, which is ideal for those anglers who want to enjoy the benefits of a little more space in their shelter as well as those who like to head to the continent with a friend to carp fish out of a huge European swim.
As the name suggests, the TF Gear Airflo Bivvy is a completely inflatable system. This means that the main rib structure is completely pole-free, ensuring that you never have to waste time on the bank connecting ribs and wrestling with a pram hood system. Instead, the bivvy using revolutionary ‘air poles’ – which, in laymen’s terms, are essentially inflatable tubes. These air poles are constructed from a super tough puncture resistant material and are connected at one end. This means that all you have to do it to insert the supplied pump into one of the valves on the air poles (ensuring that the other is firmly fastened) and inflate. With a little practise, the Total Fishing Gear team have managed to inflate this entire structure in less than one minute. Once inflated, all that is left to do is to peg in the system and push a pole through the storm peak – leaving you with a structurally sound bivvy system that is ready for use at a moment’s notice. This means that if you’re on the bank in miserable weather and you want to get your gear under shelter before setting up, you can quickly and easily erect this bivvy without wasting time at the water’s edge. This allows you to get your rods out sooner – maximising your chances of a successful session.
This bivvy is suitable for use in all weather conditions. Provided it is fully inflated, this shelter will be rock solid in even the windiest conditions. It is manufactured from highly durable nylon, which has a hydrostatic head rating of 8,000mm. This ensures that it will keep you bon dry in even the dampest weather. The door comes with three infill panel options – a solid green, a clear PVC, and a mozzie mesh. Both the solid green and clear PVC options are completely waterproof – affording you fantastic shelter from the very worse of the weather. The side windows also have the solid green or mozzie mesh options. In the warmest summer months, you can use mozzie mesh infills throughout the bivvy – ensuring that you can enjoy a much needed breeze on those muggy European nights by the bank without also inviting in any of the bankside bugs. Similarly, the bivvy comes fitted with its own heavy duty groundsheet as standard. This not only keeps the cold and damp out of the bivvy but it also prevents the incursion of any bugs or insects from the floor.
Other than erection speed, one of the key benefits of this pole-free system is its impressive pack down size. Despite being 335cm x 305cm x 153cm when fully erected, this bivvy has a transport size of only 80cm x 43cm. This ensures that even your two man bivvy won’t take up all the room on your barrow, so whether you’re fishing with a friend or on your own you won’t run out of room when you’re heading down to the water’s edge.
