It is constructed with a DuPont filling and a stitch-through baffle in order to ensure that the insulation on the jacket is held in the perfect position throughout its life. The DuPont filling ensures boasts impressive thermal properties, making it ideal for use underneath your waterproof outer or on its own in cold weather conditions. The external fabric of the Trakker Base XP has been manufactured from nylon, which is super soft and easy to clean – should you be so fortunate as to lift a huge fish from the water whilst wearing this jacket.
In order to ensure that this jacket is fully insulated, it has an extended neck which finishes in a chin guard. This allows you to zip the jacket right up to your chin, preventing the intrusion of cold air or chilly draughts as well as preventing the escape of warm air from the neck of the jacket. The cuffs of the jacket have been elasticated in order to ensure that you don’t have to worry about the sleeves sliding down your arms when you raise them on the cast or to keep your carp rod tip in the air on the retrieve. This jacket is designed to be zipped into the Summit XP but it is important to note that Trakker hasn’t affixed any button or popper attachment system to the cuffs of this jacket. This is because the brand found that, no matter how firmly it affixed the button or popper to the cuff, it was receiving reports of the attachment ripping off. To prevent this, the brand decided to do away with the attachment – making it quicker and easier to pull the Summit XP over the Trakker Base XP Jacket.
The hem of the jacket has been fitted with an adjustable draw cord. This allows you to modify the fit of the jacket, ensuring that you’re completely comfortable throughout the duration of your carp fishing session. The rear of the Trakker Base XP has been extended, too. Not only does this mirror the design of the Summit XP but it also ensures that you can move around on the bank with ease. Whether you’re crouched landing your fish or you’re sat on your day chair constructing rigs, this extended back ensures that you never expose your lower back to the elements. As a final feature, the jacket has been fitted with zipped hand warmer pockets.
