What’s more, the Century S1 Stealth Bank Stalker features a size 12 tip ring to help avoid the kind of tangles on the retrieve that cause lost fish. The tip section of the rod is highly forgiving, counteracting the aggressive butt section. A forgiving tip allows you to better respond to the sharp movements of a hard fighting fish without incurring the kind of hookpulls that you might expect when you’re tackling fish at close quarters. The Century S1 Stealth Bank Stalker has a test curve of 3.25lbs. This engages over the upper two thirds of the rod and the rod’s length ensures that the lower third is sheltered under the angler’s forearm. The autoclave curing process in the rod manufacture ensures that you never experience degradation of the test curve, so this rod will perform to the same high standard throughout its life. In June 2006 Century was proud to report that a British Surface Caught Mirror Carp Record was landed with the S1 Stealth Bank Stalker. The whopping 61lb 4oz carp was tamed by Mark Holmes, who at the time was the editor of Advanced Carp Magazine. The carp was wrestled from the depths of a small South East England lake whilst Mark was fishing for an Advanced carp DVD.
