The Fox FX9 is the smaller brother of the incredibly successful FX11 reel. Ideal for all forms of carp fishing across the UK and the continent, this reel is perfect for tackling all manner of European smaller venues. Perfect for the kinds of intimate fishing scenarios where big distance hits are more a hindrance than a help, the FX9 still benefits from all the technologies that made the FX11 such a popular reel option, this time in a compact 560g package.

The FX9 boasts the same super slow oscillation as the FX11. This ensures that you are able to achieve the perfect line lay every time. The reel is fitted with two range casting line clips, one in black and the other in silver. This allows you to fish with accuracy at two distances and thanks to Fox’s line clip technology you never have to worry about damaging your line. The FX9 has a front Quick Clutch drag system. This allows you to switch into fight mode with incredible speed, allowing you to capitalise on every take with accuracy, resulting in fewer lost fish. This Quick Clutch has been fitted with a grit guard. This ensures that this reel is able to last as long as possible and doesn’t suffer from the kinds of wear and tear that other front drag systems do. Mesh-Tech gearing ensures that you are able to use every bit of its impressive 4.6:1 gear ratio without causing premature damage to the gearing system and you are able to retrieve 80cm of line with each handle turn. This is ideal for most mid-to-small sized venues, both in the UK and on the continent.

Like the FX11, the FX9 is constructed from hardwearing graphite. This ensures that the reel has an impressive life whilst also keeping the weight of this compact reel down to a minimum. The FX9 also features the same stunning modern black cosmetics and it will sit perfectly on many lower test curve rods, as well as smaller carp rods.
