Maver MV-R Front Drag Reel

Maver have been producing tackle for the match discipline since 1994, its name has become synonymous with high performance match anglers, so much so that Maver are now the largest producer of competition poles in Europe.

The Maver MV-R Front Drag Reel is designed to cover the needs of all your match and coarse fishing on a plethora of venues, whether you’re running a small stick float down a river or fishing a feeder on a commercial carp venue, the MV-R will get the job done with minimal fuss. The reel is available in two sizes, 3000 and 4000, the later being the ideal reel for longer distance feeder fishing.

Both models are featherweight, with the 4000 weighing in at just 305g, finding a balance with a rod is straightforward, the MV-R will feel at home on a multitude of rods.

Mechanically, the MV-R is built on a 5 + 1 ball bearing system, rotating a computer balanced rotor which translates into a silky smooth reel with a high retrieve rate, perfect for distance feeder fishing. Complimenting its smooth action further is Maver’s Intelligent Oscillating System (IOS) and Anti-Twist line roller, helping with line lay which can be of paramount importance when you’re looking for longer casts.

The handle of the reel is ambidextrous and can be fitted to either side of the reel, features multi-disc drag, an instant anti-reverse bearing, although the reel can be used in reverse if you prefer to play fish that way.

Visually, the reel looks great, presented in black with an anodised spool and lime green accents with MV-R and Maver branding also finished in green.
