To help the reel cast further than any other Penn has fitted the Affinity LC 8000 with a long tapered spool. Forged from aluminium, this spool is able to reel line off in large, high-speed, coils. This ensures that maximum momentum is maintain throughout the cast, enabling the line reach out as far as possible – all without the risk of tangles. The spool is also slow oscillating. This ensures you get perfect line lay on the retrieve which, in turn, sets the reel up perfectly for the next cast. Everything about the Penn Affinity LC 8000 spool has been designed to get you those vital extra few meters with each cast.

The reel boasts nine ball bearings which have each been strategically placed in order to ensure the reel’s performance stays flawlessly smooth under heavy loads. The quick turn drag system enables you to tackle those distance hits comfortably and with confidence. The titanium main shaft maintains the reels exceptional rigidity and the Penn Affinity LC 8000 is fitted with a manual bale arm to ensure you have full control over the performance of the reel. The reel is supplied with two aluminium spools as standard, both of which are fully saltwater resistant. The first of these spools is deep and has been designed with monofilament mainline in mind. The second spool is shallower and has been intended for braided uses.
