The Shakespeare Agility 2 EXP Fly Rod is a prime example of the Shakespeare fly fishing offer, and it’s certainly built to make your fishing life easier. This is a seven-piece travel rod which packs down neatly into a supplied Cordura tube that has internal partitions to keep each blank section safe and secure. Many fly fishers like to have variety in the choice of guides for their rods and Shakespeare has installed double-leg stripper line guides near the butt section and ‘snake’-configuration intermediate guides accordingly, all of which are made with water- and corrosion-resistant stainless steel.

A lightweight engraved aluminium reel seat provides strength with low weight and a traditional AAA-grade cork handle will keep your grip comfortable as you battle with fish in all weathers. This is supplied in a Half Wells design for 8ft6” and 9ft versions (#5 and #6 AFTM ratings) and with a Full Wells configuration for the 9ft6” and 10ft versions (#7 and #8 AFTM ratings). The 9ft6” rod comes in either #7 or #8 ratings. Regardless of the fullness of your Wells, a handle extension and fighting butt will be included in your purchase.

All versions pack down to 50cm or less in length, which is great for transportation and roaming, and they range from 164g in weight for the 10ft rod to only 112g in weight for the 9ft #6 option. Whichever option you favour, Shakespeare Agility 2 EXP Fly Rods all have a crisp and smooth action and are built for when excess and bulky luggage poses problems, such as when travelling by air or when you have a long walk to arrive at your swim.
