Shimano Curado DC Reel,
The new Shimano Curado DC is a brand new reel which features a DC braking system in a lower price class. The I-DC4 braking system will help the angler to cast better and reduces the change of backlash. The total of 6 + 1 ball bearings in combination with MicroModule makes the reel run insanely smooth. And due to the combination of a Magnumlite spool + Superfree spool system and the I-DC4 braking system, the angler will even be able to cast and fish also small lures for e.g. bass, perch or zander. The Curado DC might be considered the best reel for crankbait fishing in this price class. However, since the implementation of X-Ship, the reel is also able to withstand higher forces and can also be used to fish bigger lures for e.g. pike.

The Shimano Curado DC Fishing Reel is one of the latest reels in the hugely popular Curado series. With a reputation for value and ease of use, the Curado DC benefits from SHIMANO’s i-DC4 Digital Control casting system that automatically maximises casting performance across a wide range of lines, fishing conditions and lure casting techniques. The Curado DC is compact, smooth and unmatched in terms of value - being the only reel at this price point to benefit from the i-DC4 breaking system. This brilliant technology can be set in one of 4 modes to maximise your casting performance, whilst at the same time reducing over-runs. Available in all sizes the 150/151 sizes offer great all round versatility, whilst the smaller 70/71 size is the perfect Baitcaster Reel for casting lighter lures and lighter lines.
The i-DC4 Digital Control, exclusive to Shimano, has 4 casting mode settings to choose from: Mode 1 is the setting to achieve maximum distance (least amount of magnetic braking). Mode 2 is designed specifically for managing braided lines. Mode 3 for fluorocarbon or stiffer lines. Mode 4 offers maximum control (largest amount of magnetic braking) for applications like skipping. Once set, the onboard microcomputer, which is self-powered by generating its own electricity, does all of the work, leaving you to take aim and cast. Since the spool breaking is magnetic and the whole system is powered by the rotation of the spool, very little maintenance is required.
Like all Curado models, the aluminium HAGANE Body creates the perfect frame for the precision gearing, and the aluminum S3D spool reduces vibration on the cast and when retrieving. The Curado DC is hard to beat when you are looking for a reel with trouble-free digital casting control.
