Total Protection: The concept of COREPROTECT is simple... to provide water resistance without creating a heavy rotation feeling. There are three key areas of the reel that require protection; the roller clutch, the body and the line roller.
Hagane Gear:
With amazing strength and durability, the HAGANE Gear is at the very heart of the reel. No cutting work is applied to the teeth of the drive gear. Instead the entire surface is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and then formed by Shimano's cold forging technology. X-Ship:
X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts.
The new Shimano Nasci FC Reel range combines modern design with Shimano's unrivalled engineering excellence. The understated, monochromic grey body has subtle chrome accents and is available in a range of sizes making it a great choice for everything from light freshwater lure fishing to sea fishing with larger fishing lures.
Shimano have used a G-Free body on this reel where they have shifted the reels centre of gravity closer to the fishing rod, by moving this closer to the anglers hand this increases angler comfort especially on long fishing sessions with repeated casting. Combined with a lightweight Ci4+ body, this spinning reel balances rods superbly well. Internally the Nasci features HAGANE Gear and X-SHIP, two of Shimano’s leading engineering technologies. These combine to produce smooth, powerful rotation, which is extremely efficient when under pressure and will also ensure your reel will keep working at peak performance every time.
Casting is enhanced on this shimano reel by a combination of ultra smooth line lay and an AR-C spool.
