Shimano has been leading the way in carp reel production ever since the company first turned its hand to reel design over 50 years ago. Originally a bike gear manufacturer, and still prolific in this area, Shimano can be considered the expert in all things rotational. It has since evolved its fishing expertise into rods, luggage, line and more!
The Shimano Speedmaster Tapered Surf Leaders is the perfect line for sea anglers that want to improve their catch rate. Made with incredibly strong nylon, this line offers a high abrasion resistance as well as high knot strength. This means you can play the fish with confidence that you will not lose your lure and fish!
To help with bite detection, Shimano has made the line the highly visible colour of bright orange. This colour is easy to spot in the water and small movements will be much easier to spot. The leader also has a super smooth finish which ensures precision casting at long distances.
Coming in a spool length of 10x15m, there is a range of diameter and breaking strain options with the Speedmaster line. Choose from a breaking strain of 2.2kg-12kg (Diameter: 0.18mm-0.50mm), 2.7kg-17kg (Diameter: 0.20mm-0.57mm), 3.6kg-17kg (Diameter: 0.23mm-0.57mm) or a whopping 7.2kg-17kg with a line diameter of 0.33mm-0.57mm.
This is a good alternative for the Tapered Surf line.
