The heart of the reel, the Hagane gears have been cold forged with the use of 3D design software. This means that the gears haven’t had their teeth cut in any way; they were formed perfectly in the first place. This Hagane gearing is supported by Shimano’s innovative X-Ship engineering. X-Ship supports the pinion gear to provide increased durability. This in turn ensures that the pinion gear remains in precise alignment with the drive gear, maintaining reel performance ability under even the most extreme of loads and eliminating the friction between the spool shaft and the gearing for an improved casting performance. Fitted with six S-ARB bearings as well as one roller bearing, the Stradic FK is a smooth performer by all accounts.
