Christchurch Angling Club is focused on protecting the future of its fishery while continuing to provide valuable opportunities for anglers within the local community. The project aims to install specialist fencing designed to help safeguard fish stocks from predation, supporting the long-term sustainability of the lake and creating a healthier environment for fish populations to thrive.
The fishery already plays an important role within the local community, supporting clubs, providing accessible angling opportunities and hosting free junior events that encourage young people to take up the sport. By investing in the protection of the fishery, the club can continue to grow and improve the venue while ensuring future generations have the opportunity to enjoy quality fishing close to home.

Holm Place Anglers is looking to improve key areas of its venue to create a safer, more welcoming and accessible environment for everyone who visits the club. Planned improvements include repairing and upgrading fishing swims and access paths, helping to reduce erosion while making it easier and safer for anglers to reach the water.
The project is particularly focused on ensuring that fishing remains accessible for children, families, older anglers and those with limited mobility. By creating a more inclusive environment, the club hopes to encourage greater participation and provide a space where people can enjoy the outdoors, develop new skills and connect with others through a shared passion for fishing.

Peace of Mind Angling uses fishing as a way of supporting the wellbeing of emergency service personnel, military veterans and serving members of the armed forces. The project is centred around creating a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can take time away from the pressures of their roles and focus on their mental and physical wellbeing.
Planned improvements to facilities and accessibility around Fishers Green Lake will help ensure that more people can take part comfortably and safely, including those living with injuries or ongoing health challenges. Through structured fishing sessions and peer support, the project aims to promote relaxation, resilience and social connection while highlighting the positive role angling can play in supporting wellbeing.
