How To Set Up A Drop Shot Rig for Perch

With autumn now setting in, it is the perfect time to start getting ready for a bit of lure fishing and one method that has been devastating especially for perch in recent years is the dropshot. Dropshot fishing is a great tactic for working your swim and is especially effective when fished near structures in the water such as boats, trees and locks. In this weeks blog, we run you through how to tie a dropshot set up, so you can get out on the bank and see how good this method is for yourself!

What You Need...

Trim off 90cm of your chosen fluorocarbon

Tie a figure 8 loop knot in the end

Thread your chosen hook onto the fluorocarbon leaving a 30cm tag

Tie a Dropshot knot to secure the hook

Dropshot Essentials

Tie an overhand knot in the tag end of your fluorocarbon and seucre the dropshot weight

Tie a figure 8 loop knot on the end of your mainline and loop onto your fluorocarbon section

Hook your chosen dropshot lure and you're now ready to fish!
