The Rig for Specimen Tench this Spring!

Fishing for Tench can be incredibly rewarding and there is no better time to catch yourself a specimen tench then in Spring. Here we take a look at a fully optimised specimen tench rig from our expert angler Phil, who has banked several specimen tench well into double figures using this exact rig!

Step 1 - Thread the inline feeder onto your mainline, tie on the quick-change swivel and pull into the feeder.

 

Step 2 - Tie on your hook to around 10 inches of fluorocarbon, then thread a fake maggot onto the hook mag aligner style.

 

Step 3 - Thread an anti-tangle sleeve onto the hooklink then tie a small figure of eight loop. Try to keep length short around 4 inches.

 

Step 4 - Before you attach the hooklink to the QC swivel use the pulla tools straighten the rig.

 

Step 5 - Bait the hook with 3-4 live maggots, fill the feeder then catch tench....
