KING OF THE CATCH 2016 - WINNERS!

The waiting is finally over and the results are in. All the votes have been counted and verified, and we’re now able to announce the five winners and five runners up of King of the Catch 2016!

Before we do, we’d like to thank everyone who entered and voted in this year’s competition. You’ve really made this year the biggest King of the Catch to date. This year was a very closely fought competition and you all showed your social media skills by promoting your catch to the world.

Now for the moment of truth… the winners of King of the Catch 2016 are…

carp

Carp Winner Ray Rutter won the carp category with a whopping 725 votes. In July, August, or September of next year, Ray and a friend will be flying off to the St Lawrence River in Canada, for a fantastic week of Canadian carp fishing!

Carp Runner Up This was a close run category and with 625 votes, Pascal Beevor was just piped to the post. £1,000 of Angling Direct vouchers, valid in-store and online, will soon be winging their way to him.

predator

Predator Winner Arezue Omid will be heading off to John Wilson’s private lake in Thailand for eight days and seven nights, with five days spent fishing the lake itself! She got an amazing 1024 to clinch this category, the single most votes of anyone who entered this year’s competition.

Predator Runner Up Leo Millar will be receiving a £1,000 Angling Direct voucher, to spend either in-store or online. He received 405 votes to clinch second place.

coarse

Coarse Winner Rick Hurley received 300 votes to win this category. He’ll be enjoying a fully hosted Canadian sturgeon fishing trip between 19th August and 27th August 2017!

Coarse Runner Up With 172 votes, Gary Johnson is our second place prize winner. £1,000 worth of Angling Direct vouchers will be headed his way shortly.

sea

Sea Winner Ben Creaser was in front of the sea fishing competition right from the off, and it stayed that way until competition close, with 416 votes. He’ll be headed to Havouysund in Norway for his Sportquest sea fishing holiday.

Sea Runner Up A late surge from Andy Loble saw him come second with 304 votes. He’ll soon be enjoying £1,000 worth of Angling Direct vouchers, to spend in-store or online.

junior

Junior Winner Jodie Sloane is our youngest recipient of this holiday of a lifetime prize, and she won with 442 votes. Along with her parent or guardian, she’ll be enjoying a week on the Ebru in Spain next year!

Junior Runner Up Ashton Carrick was just piped to the post in this competition, but, thanks to his 314 votes, he’ll still be able to enjoy spending a whopping £1,000 worth of Angling Direct vouchers!

We’d like to wish all our winners and runners up huge congratulations! Thanks to all 1,311 anglers who entered this year’s competition. You all did an outstanding job promoting your entries and received almost 14,500 votes between you.

Congratulations for making this year the biggest and best King of the Catch so far!
