Angling Direct Get It Together With Hinders Of Swindon

Angling Direct PLC is delighted to announce that it has completed a deal with the renowned fishing tackle and bait retailer, Hinders of Swindon, resulting in a unique arrangement that will be very beneficial for both parties.

By mutual agreement, Angling Direct PLC have acquired a new site, from which it will service tackle and bait sales to the local customer base, currently serviced by Hinders Fishing Superstore. The new 5,000 sq ft showroom is located on the nearby Hawksworth Trading Estate in Swindon, and is currently in the process of being re-developed and fitted out. This new Angling Direct store is located less than a mile away from the current Hinders store and with its great access will make this a very convenient location for all local anglers, its anticipated that the new store will be open around mid-August.

Stewart Downing, AD Commercial Manager, confirmed that the new AD Swindon store will be managed by the highly regarded carp, specialist and competition angler Kev Hewitt, who will transfer over from Hinders, along with Cullum Large, who joins as part of the sales consultancy team for the new business, and that all the team were really excited about finally bringing the Angling Direct retail experience to the local area.

Hinders will continue to sell their own branded bait at their Manor Garden Centre site and online. The move enables Hinders to focus on its growing demand for bait. Bryan Jarrett, Hinders MD, commented “I am delighted with the agreement, especially given the new sales and distribution potential within Angling Direct, further accelerating the growth opportunities of the bait business”

Darren Bailey, CEO of Angling Direct PLC commented that the dialogue on this proposition had been ongoing for some time, and that it was great to finally strike a deal that was so collaborative in its nature. It would allow Hinders to focus on their core competencies of bait development and manufacturing, and bring out other synergies, including the potential joint development of a new bait range, distribution and sale of all the Hinders bait ranges through all Angling Direct sales channels, including the new Swindon store.

Details of the new store opening will be shared across social media, and local press.
