Angling Direct Peterborough Grand Opening

Saturday 27th October may have coincided with a drop in temperature in terms of weather, but things were red hot inside our brand new Angling Direct Peterborough store. The day started promptly at 8am with a speech from Wayne Glossop before the ribbon was cut and some 100+ people, who had been queuing in Baltic conditions, were allowed into the store.

They quickly found the items of tackle they were shopping for and passed on positive comments about the appearance and stock available in store. The first 200 customers were rewarded for their cold start with our grand opening goodie bags, which featured free items of tackle from Maver, RidgeMonkey, Mainline Baits, Nash, Avid Carp, and Preston Innovations.

As the day progressed there was a steady stream of customers in store, which kept the staff on their toes and made sure the store was full at all times with anglers from all disciplines.

Outside in the car park Trakker's Gaz Hood and Alex Bransby displayed bivvies, wraps and brand new items in the Trakker Autumn and Winter '18 range, including the Access barrow. There was so much interest the boys didn’t feel the cold and were happy to help absolutely everyone.

Maver were stationed next to Trakker, again outside demonstrating and helping coarse/match anglers with information on products, venues and new items launching soon in the Maver stable.

Inside we had Andy Findlay working from his seatbox to help everyone with rigs, bait and application in terms of commercial carp match fishing. He was a mine of information and with the Preston Innovations items stocked in Peterborough he was able to point people in the right direction in terms of having all the components he uses in his successful match angling.

Finally we had Mainline Baits' John Kneebone in store talking winter tactics and baits, with a great deal of helpful advice on liquids and how to give your bait and edge in the cooler months, which was very well received by customers.

Overall the day was incredible, testament to the hard work of AD staff for getting the store ready and for ensuring each customer left with a smile on their face on the day. If you are ever near Peterborough, make sure you head in and see the shop for yourself, the team are looking forward to seeing you.
