ANGLING DIRECT SWINDON MANAGER WINS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Store manager at Angling Direct Swindon; Kev Hewitt won as part of the England carp team in Hungary last weekend with the perfect winning score of 1-1-1. The official angling champions, Carp Team England performed incredibly last week.

Last week, England's Men's Carp Team took home the gold medal in what has been described as an 'all-time great' World Championship performance as they beat 27 other nations, including America, South Africa, and many more.

The event was originally to take place in Ukraine but was moved to Hungary’s Lake Deseda due to the current conflict. This made the win even more impressive, as the team barely practised at the new venue.

We, here at AD spoke with Kev and his thoughts since winning with his team:

"Winning gold in the world champs has been a dream of mine for over 10 years now and to achieve it fishing alongside my best mate Mark Bartlett and with an incredible England, team has to be the pinnacle of my angling career.”

Kev went on to thank his Carp England Team…

“The plan was masterminded by the manager Rob Hughes and executed to perfection by the team which included Harry Charrington, Karl Pitcher, Wayne Mansford and Ryan Need. When you go into battle against 27 other nations, you want to fight with the best in the world on your side and that is exactly what we had. It has to be one of the all time sporting great team performances I have ever seen. "

The Final Top 5 Result:
